Fall is my favorite season. So, I like to hold on to it for as long as possible. The cool, crisp air and the crunch of the leaves underfoot-I enjoy it all. We’ve been taking lots of fall walks lately. And, there’s nothing better to warm you upon return as a cup of mulled apple cider. The combination of the spices: cinnamon, cloves and allspice. They’re so warm and inviting. They just shout fall to me. You can put this recipe together in a few minutes. Just 10-15 minutes and you’ll be set. Trust me, the scent of this mulled apple cider simmering on your stovetop is heaven!

Several weeks back, we took the kids apple picking. So, we’ve been trying to use up all of the apples over here! Any time we go fruit picking, we come away with much more than we intended. Anyone else? Enthusiasm in the moment gets the best of us. Fortunately, my family loves most things cooked with apples. And, this mulled apple cider was no exception. It has delicate flavors of cinnamon, cloves and allspice. Not too overpowering even for younger palates.

We actually all drank it outside in the cool air with the last of the fall sunshine on us. It felt like a moment of peace in a world of crazy right now. One of those moments you just need to grab for yourself. A warm cup of mulled apple cider, some late fall sunshine and cool crisp air. It’s good for the soul to sit in that peace if even for just a moment. Enjoy!
