Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays! I love the simplicity of a holiday based on being thankful and grateful for the blessings in your life. It’s time to gather your people, friends and family, around the table. So, let’s make it inviting. This warm Thanksgiving tablescape is a great way to showcase all of the hard work you’ve put into your meal.
This table was mostly centered around these turkey plates and the warm colors that I found in the flowers for the centerpiece. When selecting flowers, I try not to have something predetermined. I’ve had more success when I hit my local florist or grocery store to see what looks fresh that day.
There were lots of mums in fall colors. So, I selected these burgundy ones. I loved the whimsical shape. I complimented those with cream roses, sedum in the same hue, seeded eucalyptus, hypericum berries and some dusty miller. My grocery store also happened to have some broom corn that had wine colored ends. I loved the texture that it gives the arrangement and the color goes perfectly with the rest of the deep reds.
Lately, I’ve been seeing brushed gold everywhere. Especially when you look at silverware. I’ve recently picked up this inexpensive set. The gold patina works really well with the rich autumn colors and wood tones. I loved the vessel that I used for my flower arrangement. It is a dark metal with some gold banding. However, I realized after I took these pictures that I didn’t have a photo capture it. I love mixing metals and finishes. It’s a great way to use what you have, while adding new elements. I believe things actually look richer and more curated than if everything matched perfectly.
I’ve had these turkey salad plates for years. They were from Pottery Barn. While they are no longer available, you could substitute any fall plates that you have or find with pumpkins, leaves or turkeys.
For place cards, I created these using my Minc machine. I downloaded a tag shape that I found on google. I printed each person’s name using the magnolia sky font. Then, I trimmed the tags out and used gold foil in the Minc. I love the addition of this metallic finish up on the place cards as well. I attached them to the napkins using a sheer twine ribbon. The ribbon adds to the rustic feel of fall.
I scattered the velvet pumpkins that I talked about here down the table. These added more ivory, gray, taupe and bronze tones to the table for a warm Thanksgiving tablescape.
I usually serve from my island kitchen. That way, I have the room I need for the elements that make the table pretty. Priorities, right?
Whether your Thanksgiving is large or small, I hope you are surrounded by the ones you love. My favorite parts of Thanksgiving are the children’s prayers of thanks, and the lingering long after the meal is finished. It’s the feeling of fullness that comes not only from the turkey, but from the company and love that surrounds us. Happy Thanksgiving to each of you!
